Megan Thee Stallion ‘Twerking’ During Kamala Harris Rally In Atlanta Sparks Criticism: ‘I Don’t Understand This’

Megan Thee Stallion’s performance at a recent rally for Vice President Kamala Harris has stirred controversy among some social media users.

During the event held in Atlanta yesterday (July 30), which featured appearances from rapper Quavo and former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, Megan Thee Stallion took the stage in “hot girl” attire, delivering a high-energy set that included some light twerking to her popular hits.

Wearing a Democrat blue suit with a cropped white shirt, Megan Thee Stallion, 29, energetically performed tracks like Savage and Body, and made a strong pitch for Kamala Harris:

“I know my ladies in the crowd love their body. And if you want to keep loving your body, you know who to vote for.”

However, not everyone appreciated the choice of performance. Some critics took to social media to express their discontent.

One user criticized the mismatch between the performance style and the event’s tone, saying,

“The thing that’s killing me here is the styling that’s tryna be respectable enough for a political rally but these dancers tryna let that thang loose in a cardigan isn’t it.”

Another added,

“Kamala just sabotaged her own campaign.”

One chimed in with,

“Yall know I love Meg DOWN but I don’t understand this…”

Still, some stood by Megan Thee Stallion as one user wrote,

“They shoulda had me in the crowd I know all the words… Megan looking like a professional hottie”

Another wrote,

“This blue suit eatsss”

The rally also featured Quavo, 33, who spoke about his work with Kamala Harris to address gun violence, a personal issue for him following the death of his fellow Migos member Takeoff.

Quavo, Takeoff

Quavo praised Harris, stating,

“The one thing I learned about working with Vice President Harris is she always stands on business.”

He encouraged those who may not have voted before to participate in the upcoming election.

In her speech, Harris highlighted her commitment to her platform and her willingness to address critical issues. She emphasized her campaign’s focus on making history and contrasted her approach with that of former President Donald Trump, stating,

“As my friend Quavo would say, he doesn’t walk it like he talks it.”

She also asked Donald Trump to reconsider his decision not to debate her. She referenced remarks he’s made about her in the public and told him that whatever he said to say, to

“Say it to my face.”

Despite the criticisms, the rally aimed to energize voters and underscore Harris’s campaign message as the election approaches.
