Mariah Carey Believes Jennifer Lopez’s Canceled Tour Is Just ‘Karma Biting Her In The Butt,’ Source Claims
The drama between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez may never end.
It’s no secret that the two singers/actresses don’t get along. While it’s unclear when or why the disconnect between the celebs first formed, it’s highly speculated that Mariah Carey took issue with Jennifer Lopez way back in 1998 when the “Jenny From the Block” artist started working with her ex-husband, record executive Tommy Mottola. Over the years when asked about her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey has shaded the Bronx native, most famously saying on the matter,
“I don’t know her.”
Despite refusing to admit she’s even aware of who Jennifer is, an insider recently shared with In Touch that Mariah has enjoyed the so-called downfall of her alleged archenemy. As we reported, in addition to her ongoing marital woes, Jennifer announced in May that she was no longer going forward with her summer tour. Reportedly, her This Is Me… Live tour was canceled due to extremely low ticket sales.
Sharing Mariah’s alleged thoughts, the insider claimed,
“Mariah is really excited to be getting back to Vegas and looking forward to proving she’s still at the top of the game when it comes to putting on a show and bringing in ticket sales. She’s extra excited to show that she’s still got it after J. Lo had to go and cancel her concert tour.”
Last month news broke that Mariah added 2025 dates to her Las Vegas Celebration of Mimi Residency. Fans can also see her on tour starting in November for her Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time tour.
Per the source, Mariah has followed Jennifer’s setbacks “very closely and took a lot of pleasure in seeing her fall on her face.”
They continued,
“She believes it’s karma biting her in the butt because she’s not as talented as she thinks and way too arrogant. For J. Lo it’s a huge big kick in the teeth to Mariah making all these huge concert plans, especially because she knows how much she’s been trash-talking her and laughing about her divorce to boot.”
And added,
“J. Lo isn’t giving up, she’s hoping to pick herself up and get the tour back on track once all this mess dies down. And a big motivation will be going head-to-head with Mariah and competing for her holiday fan base. It’s hard to believe she’d be thinking that far ahead, but that’s J. Lo for you, she always has a game plan.”
Safe to say, fans of both ladies shouldn’t expect to see any collaborations from them anytime soon.
