NBA YoungBoy’s Federal Gun Case Moved To Utah, Rapper To Plead Guilty

New details have surfaced in NBA Youngboy’s ongoing legal troubles.

NBA Youngboy’s federal gun case, originally meant to be heard in Louisiana, will now be moved to Utah. This comes after the 24-year-old, real name Kentrell Gaulden, informed the court he plans on pleading guilty to firearms possession. As previously reported, in Utah, NBA Youngboy faces unrelated charges accusing him of running a prescription drug fraud ring.

The federal gun case stems from Youngboy, a convicted felon, having a gun while shooting a music video in his hometown Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2020. The incident led to the arrest of several people, including the rapper, and the confiscation of more than a dozen guns. If convicted, Youngboy is looking at a 10-year sentence. However, reports note that it’s highly speculated the term could be reduced due to his expected guilty plea.

Unfortunately, Youngboy still has to worry about the drug fraud ring allegations. As you may recall, in April he was arrested while on house arrest and ultimately hit with 63 charges: 20 counts of identity fraud, 20 counts of obtaining a prescription under false pretenses, and 20 counts of forgery. He was also charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, engaging in a pattern of unlawful activity, and possession of a controlled substance.
