Cardi B Responds To Claims That She Used ‘Pedophile’ Graffiti In Maternity Shoot To Take A Shot At Nicki Minaj: ‘We Literally Picked A Random Street’

Cardi B is not here for critics saying she used her maternity shoot to diss fellow rapper Nicki Minaj.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper recently shared a series of photos from her street maternity shoot on social media. The photos featured Cardi B sitting on a motorbike in New York City with a graffiti background that read “homesick pedophile,” which caused some to question whether or not Cardi B was firing shots at Nicki Minaj (who she has had previous drama with in the past), and her husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender due to his 1995 attempted rape conviction.

If you didn’t know, Kenneth Petty was sentenced to home detention and probation in 2022 after he failed to register as a sex offender in California.

Amid fans suggesting the graffiti in the background was a subtle diss towards the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper, Cardi took to X (formally Twitter) to clarify how the maternity photos turned out. Some also called out the Grammy-winning rapper for having the controversial term displayed in the first place. She wrote,

“First of all we literally picked a random street because paparazzi was hounding us everywhere. This was supposed to be my original first picture and we had to edit the photos in minutes because the shoot got leaked. Didn’t even have time to go over every detail because people were busy trying to expose my pregnancy as ‘aha’ moment.”

Cardi continued,

“Second I’m ALWAYS with the sh*ts but I’m not using MY MATERNITY shoot to be funny. Are you dumb??”

In another post, Cardi continued to defend her maternity photos after a social media user accused her of giving her team excuses for failing to catch “pedophile” written on the wall.

She said,

“A team?? B*ch my makeup artist touched up the picture because we didn’t have time for all that, it says the date and time nobody was paying attention to the graffiti… second if I wanted to be petty I would’ve posted a lot of memes last week.. I KEEP TELLIN YALL TO LEAVE ME THE F*K ALONE!! If I’m saying I’m not on that time DONT MAKE ME GET ON THAT TIME. Unrist yourself!!”
