Jamie Foxx is ready to turn a health scare into a heartfelt performance.
The Oscar-winning actor is set to take the stage in a new one-man show titled One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx. The show will delve into his recent health scare, mixing humor, heart, and inspiration as he reflects on his journey.

Jamie Foxx shared the news on Instagram with a black square and the text, “What Had Happened Was,” followed by the caption:

Jamie Foxx’s health scare first came to light in April 2023, when news broke that he was hospitalized in Atlanta due to a “medical complication.”

The exact nature of his illness was never publicly disclosed, but Foxx recently shared some details in a video posted by Instagram user Brenda Combs. In the video, Foxx explained that he experienced a severe headache and was subsequently hospitalized for 20 days. He received a cortisone shot and described the situation as serious but did not provide further specifics.

Reflecting on his ordeal, Foxx expressed his gratitude and new outlook on life at various public events. In March 2024, he spoke at the African American Film Critics Association’s Special Achievement Awards, mentioning his intent to address his health scare in his unique comedic style.
He said:
“Everybody wants to know what happened, and I’m going to tell you what happened. But I’ve got to do it in my way. I’m going to do it in a funny way. We’re going to be on the stage. We’re going to get back to the standup sort of roots.”

As Foxx gears up for his upcoming show, audiences are looking forward to his candid take on his recent experiences. Although ticket information isn’t available yet, the shows are set to start in October.
