Porsha Williams Wins Prenup Battle Amid Divorce w/ Simon Guobadia

Porsha Williams has scored a major victory in her ongoing divorce with Simon Guobadia.

In the latest of the drama, Porsha Williams came out victorious as a Fulton County, Ga., judge ruled that her and the Nigerian businessman’s prenup would be upheld after he tried to challenge it. The judge determined that the prenup is “empirically fair.”

Court documents noted that the prenup was in place

“to avoid contested and expensive litigation, including the costly and potentially intrusive discovery process.”

Attorneys for the Real Housewives of Atlanta star pointed this out after Simon Gubadia tried to subpoena Porsha Williams and True Entertainment, LLC (the production company for RHOA), demanding they submit documents that go back three years.

However, Porsha Williams’ legal team said that since their prenup hadn’t been declared “unenforceable,” the court should not allow these items that Simon Guobadia requested to be considered, along with any other items that would be “immediately relevant” to deciding if the prenup could be enforced. The court sided with Porsha.

You may recall that Porsha filed for divorce in March, 15 months after she and Simon tied the knot. After that, Simon claimed that when he signed the agreement, he thought Porsha would be a stay-at-home mom and housewife, and that her desire to return to RHOA makes the prenup unenforceable. Still, the court said his argument is invalid as the prenup doesn’t say anything about Porsha not working in the future. On top of that, she has “been a reality TV celebrity for years,” which Simon knew when he signed the prenup, the court ruled.
