John Amos’ Daughter Shannon Says She Found Out About His Passing ‘Through The Media’
As John Amos’ family and loved ones mourn his passing, his daughter Shannon Amos revealed she found out he died online.
She posted a heartfelt tribute to the late legendary actor on Instagram on Tuesday night, Oct. 1, and wrote in the caption,
“I am without words…Our family has received the heartbreaking news that my Dad, John Allen Amos, Jr., transitioned on August 21st.”
She continued,
“We are devastated and left with many questions about how this happened 45 days ago, learning about it through the media like so many of you.”
Shannon Amos added that she and her family,
“are struggling to navigate the wave of emotions and uncertainties surrounding his passing.”
However, she wrote,
“Still, there is some semblance of peace in knowing my father is finally free.”
Shannon Amos, who previously alleged that her father was a victim of elder abuse, then asked fans to continue praying and thinking of her family.
The actor’s son K.C. Amos announced his death on Tuesday (Oct. 1), sharing that he died of natural causes. He was 84 years old.
