Jonathan Majors’ movie Magazine Dreams is back on the calendar after Disney previously pulled the film due to the actor’s legal woes.
Briarcliff Entertainment has picked up the domestic distribution rights to the film and plans to release it in theaters in early 2025.
Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Briarcliff, told media outlets that Magazine Dreams is “a visceral experience that challenges the perceptions of ambition and identity,” adding that Majors’ performance
“will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most compelling and transformative roles in recent cinema history.”
In Magazine Dreams, Jonathan Majors plays amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, alongside Haley Bennett. The movie initially received praise at Sundance and was acquired by Searchlight but was pulled from Disney’s slate just as Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles began.
Majors faced charges related to a domestic dispute and was convicted of reckless assault and harassment last December. Although he was acquitted on some charges, he was sentenced to a 52-week domestic violence prevention program.
