Ex-Donda Academy Teacher Speaks On ‘Hitler Vibes’ Of Kanye’s School Rules, Says Rapper Wanted Students To Learn How To Shoot A Gun & March
Former Donda Academy teacher Cecilia Hailey, who is suing Kanye West for wrongful termination, is dishing on her time at the private school.
Speaking with The U.S. Sun, Hailey compared the school to a “zoo,” claiming pushback against Kanye’s methods wasn’t received well. Pulling back the curtains on an alleged day in the life of the students, Hailey said,
“[Kanye] did want the children to learn marching. He wanted all the children to be educated in how to carry a gun, how to shoot a gun.”

She continued,
“It came up kinda early when I first got there, kinda wanting to know how I felt about the kids learning to march, and how I felt about the kids taking gun classes and rifle classes. And I’m thinking that is not gonna happen if I’m here, that’s not acceptable, it’s not necessary, and what does that have to do with education?”
And added,
“Teaching these kids to march, to be honest with you I kind of got like Hitler vibes around that or real bizarre things.”

After calling Kanye “delusional,” she said,
“We’re not talking about adults here, we’re talking about eight-year-olds, twelve-year-olds, 15-year-olds.”
Hailey’s case has a trial date set for April 2025. Her allegations don’t end at the gun and marching claims. According to the educator, Donda Academy had a serious bullying issue as teachers weren’t allowed to hand out punishments to students for wrong behavior.
“Kids were getting physical; they would fight, the bigger kids would fight the little kids. So you might have a fourth grader hitting on a kindergarten or a first grader. We had kids hiding under tables because they were afraid. It was mayhem, really.”
Donda Academy permanently closed in October 2022, following several antisemitic comments Kanye made in interviews and on social media.
