Don Lemon Leaves X Over New Terms Requiring Disputes To Be Handled In Texas Courts
Don Lemon is officially leaving X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, ahead of a change in terms set to take effect on November 15.
The former CNN anchor, who is currently suing Elon Musk and X for multiple allegations, including fraud and breach of contract, shared his decision with followers in a post on the platform Wednesday (Nov. 13).
“I’ve loved connecting with all of you on X, but it’s time for me to leave the platform,” Lemon wrote. “I once believed it was a place for honest debate and discussion, transparency, and free speech, but I now feel it does not serve that purpose.”

Lemon’s decision comes just days before X implements new terms of service that will require all disputes to be handled in Texas courts. He pointed out that the new policy could allow X to shield itself from litigation and potentially punish critics, noting that the change ensures lawsuits will be heard in a court system more favorable to the company’s interests. As he put it,
“In short, X’s decision to change its terms ensures that such lawsuits will be heard in courthouses that are a hub for conservatives.”
Lemon, a vocal critic of the platform, directed his followers to his other accounts on YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Bluesky, encouraging them to join him elsewhere.
