During a recent sit down with the Effective Immediately Radio Show, the “Friday” star and creator explained why his character Craig and friend Smokey, played by Chris Tucker, asked family members for a $200 loan they needed to pay back neighborhood drug dealer Big Worm, played by Faizon Love, despite already earning $120 throughout the day.

Cube also stated that the next installment in the beloved franchise, initially slated for a 2025 release, may be pushed back as they haven’t begun production.
