Comedian Matt Rife Says Delayed Puberty Is Reason For Face Change, Not Plastic Surgery
Comedian Matt Rife is shooting down plastic surgery rumors after online theories about his changing appearance went viral.
In his new memoir, “Your Mom’s Gonna Love Me,” Rife, 29, explains that his drastic change isn’t the result of cosmetic work—but rather his late-blooming puberty. He writes:
“Puberty, after its sweet time for more than 20 years, finally decided to hit me square in the face.”
Adding that in just a few months, he:
“went from looking like a 13-year-old to a grown-ish man.”

Rife acknowledges speculations that his face “got wider” and confirms that his features became “more prominent,” however, he credits his transformed physique to hitting the gym with close friend Dane Cook.
Addressing the online conspiracy theories, Rife jokes that his “bizarrely stunted” puberty journey led to the internet’s wild assumptions about cosmetic surgery, but he insists, “It’s just puberty… and a little gym time.”
