Lil Yachty Praises Mariah the Scientist For Not Publicly Slamming Him Over The Way He Treated Her During Their Relationship
Lil Yachty is thankful for the grace his ex-girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist, has shown him.
In a newly aired Club Shay Shay interview with Shannon Sharpe, Lil Yachty, 27, was asked about his relationship with Mariah the Scientist, also 27. The music artists dated years ago when Mariah was in college. However, the singer has previously hinted that their relationship wasn’t the best, sharing in a 2024 interview about the time she gifted her then-boyfriend, whose music career was taking off, two songs.
However, Yachty refused to listen to the records, claiming he “didn’t want to sh*t” on Mariah if he didn’t like the tunes. Speaking about their time together when asked by Shannon, Yachty laughed then said,
“I was a sh*t person to her, and she was really great – so great – so I get it.”
After another laughing spell, he continued,
“She was a great person, though, man.”

And added about Mariah’s version of events,
“That’s the first time she’s ever spoke on us ever publicly. I honestly think that she was pretty respectful. She didn’t sh*t on me. I brought it upon myself. She didn’t tell no lies. … Shouts out to her. Tons of love, and I respect her.”
Lil Yachty also noted that he “maybe” apologized to Mariah the Scientist for what went down.
