Senator Mitch McConnell Falls Twice After Voting To Confirm HUD Secretary, Says He’s ‘Fine’
Moments after voting to confirm Scott Turner as HUD secretary, Sen. Mitch McConnell, 82, fell down the Senate stairs.
“Sen. McConnell slipped and fell walking out of the Senate chamber just now,” The Hill’s Alexander Bolton revealed, noting that security and Sens. Steve Daines and Markwayne Mullin helped him up. Igor
Bolton added,
“McConnell fell again outside Senate chamber… but was able to get up.”
A spokesperson said he’s “fine” despite polio’s lingering effects. This follows past incidents, including freezing at press conferences and a March 2023 concussion. Mitch McConnell is using a wheelchair as a precaution.
