Colman Domingo Met w/ Marvel To Address Rumors Of Him Replacing Jonathan Majors As Kang
Colman Domingo is weighing in on what the streets are saying his next major role should be.
If you’re tuned into the Marvel world, you may have heard whispers from fans that Colman Domingo should be selected to replace Jonathan Majors As Kang. As reported, in 2023 Marvel opted to go in a new direction, stepping back from Jonathan Majors and its plans for the character, amid the height of Majors’ domestic violence case involving his ex-girlfriend.
Since then, fans have speculated on who should step in to take over the role, with many suggesting that “Euphoria” star Colman Domingo would be the perfect replacement. It seems that the fandom’s casting selection caught the attention of Marvel, prompting the studio to reportedly hold a meeting with Domingo.
According to Slash Film, Domingo recently spoke on the sit-down, sharing,
“I think there had been conversations of me coming to Marvel in some way. So we [Domingo and his PR team] did follow up with a sit-down meeting with the heads of Marvel. So we did do that, and we talked openly about the landscape of Marvel or even the Kang rumors.”

He continued,
“But I feel like I want a role to be mine, whatever that role is, whatever I develop. Something didn’t feel right to me, like, ‘Oh, would I replace someone?’ No, I want to build something from the ground up that’s my own.”
Domingo clarified that while he’s unsure if Marvel was actually considering him for Kang, he would love to enter the MCU in a role that allows him to build “from the ground up.”
“I feel like that was never a conversation from my point of view, if I was discussed [to take over Kang]. I still don’t know if I was discussed, but I just know that I would want to build something up from the ground up. So, there’s still talks.”
There have also been rumors of Jonathan Majors possibly making his Marvel return as Kang, however, nothing concerning the role has been confirmed.
