Michelle Williams Speaks On Life Goals Outside Of Acting & Music + Opens Up About Identity Struggles Post-Destiny’s Child
Michelle Williams recently opened up about adding another title to her impressive résumé and the identity challenges she faced after the massive success of her former girl group, Destiny’s Child.
During a newly aired sit-down on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Williams revealed that she’s now pursuing a career in life coaching, sharing how the journey has helped her embrace new aspirations beyond singing and acting.
When asked if she believes many people struggle with career transitions, Williams admitted:
“I struggled with, you know, maybe going from being known as this member of this amazing group to now you’re being solo, now you’re being an author, now you’re being an actress.”
She continued:
“And it’s like the identity that people just don’t want to let go, you kind of worry about that.”

Williams first rose to fame in 1999 when she joined Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, alongside Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland. The group dominated the early 2000s with hits like “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” and “Independent Women Pt. 1” before officially disbanding in 2006 to pursue solo careers.
Since then, Williams has only added to her remarkable career, releasing multiple solo gospel and R&B albums, starring in films, and even gracing Broadway stages in productions like “Aida,” “Chicago,” and most recently “Death Becomes Her.”
Still, the multi-talented entertainer said she’s thrilled about her next chapter as a life coach—and she’s ready to inspire others on their journeys!
