‘Top Gun’ Star Val Kilmer’s Cause Of Death Revealed

Val Kilmer’s official cause of death has been confirmed as pneumonia, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ.
The beloved actor, who passed on April 1, also suffered from acute and chronic respiratory failure and squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue base. Additional contributing factors included malnutrition and a tracheocutaneous fistula. Val Kilmer was cremated on April 7.
His daughter shared with The New York Times that he had been battling pneumonia. Kilmer, known for his roles in “The Doors” and “Top Gun,” had endured years of declining health following a throat cancer diagnosis in 2015, which severely impacted his voice. In his final film appearance, “Top Gun: Maverick,”
A.I. was used to recreate it.
In his final months, Val Kilmer was reportedly bedridden. Hollywood legends like Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, and Cher honored the icon—Cruise even held a moment of silence at CinemaCon.
