According to AllHipHop, Judge Arun Subramanian has granted Diddy’s legal team access to earlier drafts of an unpublished memoir believed to be written by #CassieVentura. Although the versions had already been submitted to the government, they must now be turned over to Diddy’s team by April 25.
Diddy’s attorney, Anna Estevao, argues that the manuscript “contradicts Ventura’s current statements” and is “crucial to the defense.” However, the judge denied Diddy access to other materials, including diaries, emails, notes, and financial records.
Ventura’s team, along with federal prosecutors, attempted to block the release, calling it “invasive and irrelevant.” Still, the court sided partially with Diddy.
According to reports, Cassie is expected to testify, with jury selection set to begin on May 5 and opening statements expected on May 12.
