WNBA Star Skylar Diggins Filed For Divorce From Daniel Smith In March, Cites ‘Irretrievably Broken’ Marriage
Skylar Diggins has officially filed for divorce from Daniel Smith, TMZ Sports reports.
The WNBA star, who recently asked reporters to drop “Smith” from her name, filed on March 26, citing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Court documents reveal the couple separated in November 2024. Skylar Diggins and Daniel Smith, a former Notre Dame football player, wed in April 2017 and share two children—a six-year-old and a two-year-old.
While Skylar Diggins declined to explain the name change, she told reporters her focus is now on being “a good mother and teammate,” as well as “a valuable member of the community.”
Currently with the Seattle Storm, she remained upbeat during media interviews, even joking that the change wouldn’t matter much since some journalists “have always called me ‘whatever you want to call me anyways.’”
