‘My 600-Lb Life’ Star Latonya Pottain Passes Away At 40, Preliminary Autopsy Finds Congestive Heart Failure As Cause Of Death

Latonya Pottain, who appeared on Season 11 of My 600-Lb Life, has died at age 40.

According to the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office, Latonya passed away Saturday night (May 17) at CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center in Shreveport. The preliminary autopsy found congestive heart failure as the cause of death, though the final report is still pending.

Her brother shared that family visited her home that morning and noticed she was having trouble breathing. Later, a nurse called the family to say Latonya had gone into cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital, where she passed away.

On the show, Latonya’s weight loss journey was followed closely, but Dr. Younan Nowzaradan released her as a patient because she wasn’t sticking to the program.

Condolences to her friends and family.
