‘Dance Moms’ Star Abby Lee Miller Sues Prominent Los Angeles Hospital For $1.4 Million, Says Surgeons Left A Catheter In Her Body During Spinal Procedure
Dance Moms’ Abby Lee Miller is making serious allegations against a Los Angeles–based hospital.
According to TMZ, the reality star is suing Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital and two surgeons who performed spinal surgery on her in 2020, claiming they left a foreign object in her body.
Per the suit, while the procedure was successful, Abby soon began experiencing persistent abdominal pain and discomfort. She consulted several medical professionals, including the surgeons named in the complaint, but they dismissed her concerns.
Eventually, a doctor agreed to a CT scan, which reportedly revealed a “retained catheter” had been left inside her body. Abby is now suing for medical negligence, professional negligence, medical battery, and more, seeking at least $1.4 million in damages.

A spokesperson for the hospital declined to give a statement on the specifics of the case, citing their policy not to “comment on pending legal matters” or “discuss any patient’s medical treatment.”
They added:
“However, the care and safety of our patients, staff, and visitors are always Cedars-Sinai’s top priorities. We are dedicated to ensuring that we meet the highest standards of care for all those we serve.”
Abby, who has already faced limited mobility and now uses a wheelchair due to her battle with Burkitt lymphoma, has not publicly commented on the case.
