B. Simone Faces Backlash After Her Best Friend Opens Up About Struggling Financially w/ No Help: ‘This Hurt To Watch’
B. Simone is facing criticism after her best friend, Shekinah, became vulnerable about not receiving help during a tough time in her life.
During a recent episode of B. Simone’s podcast, Shekinah opened up about her financial struggles over the past year. She said she was unemployed, a single mom, living with her parents, and had her car repossessed. However, what got people talking is Shekinah revealing that she didn’t receive any help from her bestie, B. Simone.
“To not have resentment in my heart towards you [B. Simone], because I saw you do this for other people. I saw you give a check to somebody… to help them through whatever they went through. Nobody didn’t give me a handout, but guess what… that wasn’t your responsibility,” she said.

She continued:
“God had to take me through that for my own season for my own thing. I had to get my car repossessed. I had to go through the food stamp line. I had to be on Medicaid… As a friend of somebody who has it… it’s hard to digest.”
Welp… social media had thoughts.
One person wrote:
“Girl! She [B. Simone] ain’t mess with you fr. No it’s not her responsibility but in that same breath if I can give $1k to strangers on the internet why can’t I give it to my best friend.”
Another added:
“This hurt to watch. We really have to employ wisdom and discernment with who we consider a FRIEND.”
What do y’all think? Should a friend with the means step in, or was Shekinah right that it wasn’t B. Simone’s responsibility?
