T.I. Sued For Allegedly Stealing ‘Situationships’ Movie Title From Web Series Creator
T.I. is facing legal trouble over the title of his upcoming movie, Situationships.
Web series creator Cylla Senii has filed a lawsuit accusing the rapper and his company Grand Hustle Films of stealing the name from her project, a scripted show about millennial dating that launched on YouTube in 2016 and was later released on a few streaming services, including Tubi and Amazon Prime.
In the complaint, Senii says she was developing both a TV show and movie version of Situationships when she learned in late 2024 that T.I. was preparing to shoot his own comedy film with the same title. Her attorney claims “defendants are engaging in a common scheme and effort to take advantage of the public’s association of Featherstone’s ‘Situationships’ brand by marketing their own film and entitling it ‘Situationships.’”

Senii calls it “ironic,” given T.I. and Tiny recently won a $71 million case protecting their intellectual property rights in a dispute with MGA over the OMG Girlz.
The lawsuit also points out that T.I. never responded to a cease-and-desist sent in December, and that one of his recent trademark applications was preliminarily denied due to a likelihood of confusion with her existing brand.
Senii is asking the court to block the release of the film under that name and is seeking financial damages.
