Buffalo Bills Rookie Maxwell Hairston Sued Over Alleged Sexual Assault Of Former University Of Kentucky Student
Maxwell Hairston, one of the newest cornerbacks for the Buffalo Bills, has been hit with a sexual assault lawsuit.
A woman who says she met the 21-year-old while they both attended the University of Kentucky claims in the suit that Maxwell forced himself on her back in 2021.
The complaint alleges that Maxwell came to Jane Doe’s room uninvited one evening, despite her saying she was going to bed and didn’t want company. She alleges the football star ignored her insistence that she didn’t want to engage in sexual activity, pulled her pants down, and assaulted her. Jane Doe did report the incident to police and eventually transferred schools.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane says that prior to drafting Maxwell 30th overall back in April, he was thoroughly vetted, including this situation. He stated:
“We did a lot of research….That was fully investigated by the school. He even volunteered to do a polygraph and had notes. It was one of those where there was zero information saying that this actually happened, to what the accusation was. You can’t take someone’s account and think that’s the truth. But yes, we fully investigated that.”
He went on to say that Maxwell was a beloved member by all at the University of Kentucky, adding:
“That’s unfortunate when things like that are attached to someone’s name; in this case, it doesn’t seem to be anything there.”
Jane Doe is reportedly seeking a jury trial and compensatory damages on all counts.
