NBA Star Jalen Williams Reveals He Retired His Parents Amid $287 Million Contract: ‘It’s Surreal’
Jalen Williams is living the dream… and making sure his parents are too.
The OKC Thunder star spoke with TMZ Sports and revealed one of the biggest blessings to come out of his recent five-year, $287 million extension: “I’ve been fortunate enough to retire my parents. […] It’s surreal. I know everybody kind of uses that term, but it’s wild because it happened really fast, like within the span of three years, my life is completely different.”
Williams’ parents, Ronald and Nicole, both served in the Air Force, with his dad working as a jet engine mechanic and logistics specialist for 24 years, and his mom in the medical field. Now, thanks to their son, they’ve clocked out for good.
The 24-year-old, known as J-Dub, was the 12th overall pick in the 2022 draft and just came off a breakout 2025 season that included an All-Star nod and a championship win over the Indiana Pacers.
