Jimmy Kimmel Fires Back At Donald Trump For Claiming His Show Would Be Canceled: ‘I’m Hearing You’re Next’
Stephen Colbert’s show is ending, and now Donald Trump is taking aim at other late-night hosts, while Jimmy Kimmel fires back.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote that Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon were “NEXT to go” following CBS’s decision not to renew Colbert’s contract. “The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented Late Night Sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone,” Trump wrote. He accused both hosts of having “absolutely NO TALENT” and blamed them for “destroying what used to be GREAT Television.”
Kimmel responded on Instagram with a screenshot of Trump’s post and a reference to The Wall Street Journal’s reporting on Trump’s alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
“I’m hearing you’re next. Or maybe it’s just another wonderful secret,” Kimmel wrote.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Trump’s name appeared in a 2003 birthday book for Epstein. Trump denied involvement, stating, “I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women.”
Meanwhile, Colbert’s cancellation has triggered backlash. Fallon said on his show, “I don’t like what’s going on one bit—these are crazy times.” Jon Stewart also ripped CBS for “calling it a day” instead of adapting.
CBS claimed the cancellation was purely financial, citing $40 million in annual losses. Paramount, CBS’s parent company, is currently seeking FCC approval for a merger with Skydance and recently agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle a lawsuit.
