Comedian Michael Rapaport Says He Didn’t Know About Hulk Hogan’s Racist Past Before Defending Him: ‘I Wouldn’t Have Done The Video’

Michael Rapaport is walking back his defense of Hulk Hogan following the wrestling legend’s de@th.

After initially posting a tribute video saying, “What we’re not going to do when Hulk Hogan passes away… we’re not going to disrespect The Hulkster. I don’t care if he’s had some controversy outside the ring,” Rapaport has now followed up with some clarification.

In a new video shared to social media, the actor admitted he was unaware of Hogan’s past racist remarks:

“He was involved in some controversy and I wasn’t aware of it. I’m not a Hulk Hogan super fan… I was not aware… that he was involved in that racial controversy, the n-word controversy. If I knew that at the time, I wouldn’t have done the video or my video would’ve been a lot different.”

If you recall, transcripts from a 2007 s*x tape revealed Hogan using racist language multiple times, including the N-word. He also reportedly said,

“I am a racist, to a point.”

Hogan passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 71 from cardiac arrest.
