Woman Accused Of Killing Girlfriend & Stealing Her Identity Hit w/ Murder Charge 18 Years Later
A case that went cold for more than a decade is now moving forward.
Angel Marie Thompson was arrested Monday (Aug. 11) in Fulton County, Georgia, facing a murder charge in connection with the 2007 death of her girlfriend Nicole Alston. Alston’s body was discovered in a burning bag in Troup County on December 6, 2007, with her hands, feet, and head missing. She was not identified until 2023.

DA Fani Willis and investigators said Alston and Thompson were in a romantic relationship that became abusive and exploitative.
Thompson had previously been charged with concealing the death and committing years of identity fraud in Alston’s name, allegedly collecting more than $200,000 in government benefits and even renewing Alston’s license using her own photo.
