NYC Mayor Eric Adams Explains Why He’s Against Legalizing Prostitution, Cites His Christian Faith
Eric Adams is making his stance on prostitution clear.
In a recent interview with TMZ, the NYC mayor said he does not support legalizing prostitution, likening the act to sex trafficking and noting that it contributes to higher STD rates.
When asked about creating a red-light district similar to Amsterdam, Adams said even such spaces do not end the exploitation and violence associated with prostitution.

He also cited his Christian faith, saying, “I’m a Christian. I’m a person of faith. Nowhere in my religious text does it say prostitution should be an alternative.”
