UPDATE: Lil Nas X’s Dad Says Rapper Is ‘Very Remorseful,’ But Was NOT On Drugs At The Time Of His Arrest

Update #2: (Aug 25, 2025 ): Lil NasX’s family is sticking by his side.

In a street interview outside the courthouse following the rapper’s arraignment, Lil Nas X’s dad, Robert Stafford, gave an update on his son, saying: “He’s great… God is good; God has a plan.” Stafford continued, shutting down speculation that dr*gs were involved in the incident that led to Lil Nas being held behind bars and facing four felony charges. As reported, the 26-year-old was hit with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer.

Stafford made it clear that while Lil Nas is in “good spirits,” he remains “very remorseful.” He noted: “It could happen to any family; he’s going to get the help that he needs.” Before police were called, Lil Nas was spotted exhibiting strange behavior while walking on Ventura Boulevard in #LosAngeles on Thursday (Aug. 21). He was wearing only cowboy boots and white underwear.

Speaking further about his son, Stafford added: “Just keep him in your prayers. Give him the same grace and mercy that God gives everyone.” Lil Nas X’s bail was set at $75,000. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is expected to be released soon.

Update: (Aug 25, 2025 ): More information has come out surrounding Lil Nas X’s recent arrest.

He has pleaded not guilty to the four felony charges he’s facing. As reported, Lil Nas X was hit with three counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer. His bail has been set at $75,000.

The rapper’s team has yet to publicly speak on the situation.

In the latest from TMZ, it was revealed that the 26-year-old was hit with four felonies following his arrest last week. One felony charge is for resisting arrest. He was also given three more charges for allegedly harming at least three cops during the incident.

As reported, on Thursday (Aug. 21), Lil Nas X was spotted walking on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles in a concerning state, wearing nothing but cowboy boots and white underwear. Once police made it to the scene, an altercation reportedly took place. He’s now looking at 4 years in prison. Bail has not been set yet; however, the rapper is expected to be arraigned later today (Aug. 25).
