Oprah Says Her Weight & Size Never Mattered To Longtime Partner Stedman Graham: ‘He Has Absolutely Been Nothing But Supportive’

Oprah Winfrey and her longtime partner, #StedmanGraham, have been locked in since day one.

Oprah says Stedman has always supported her regardless of her struggles with weight, sharing in a PEOPLE interview that no matter what the scale said, “He has absolutely been nothing but supportive through all of it.” Oprah continued, “When he met me, I was 200 pounds. And it’s never made one iota of a difference.”

In her forthcoming book chronicling her fitness journey, co-written with obesity expert Dr. Ania M. Jastreboff, Oprah reflects on early moments in her nearly 40-year relationship with Stedman. She recalls attending a 1988 #MikeTyson fight where she felt self-conscious after the announcer revealed Tyson weighed 218 pounds. At the time, Oprah says she quietly wondered how she looked beside her partner, thinking to herself, “Wow, here’s this handsome guy sitting with somebody who weighs as much as the heavyweight champion of the world.” She later realized those insecurities were entirely her own.

Today, #Oprah has become an outspoken advocate for weight-loss medication and has been open about how GLP-1 treatments have helped her manage obesity and reshape her relationship with her body.
