Nicki Minaj Accused Of Boosting MAGA Posts With 18K+ Fake Accounts – Report Claims Bot Network Drove 33% Of Her
Political Buzz

Nicki Minaj’s high-profile embrace of the MAGA movement is now facing scrutiny after a new report claims a coordinated bot network helped amplify her political posts online.

According to an analysis compiled by disinformation detection company Cyabra and shared exclusively with POLITICO, 18,784 fake profiles were identified boosting Minaj’s content between Nov. 11 and Dec. 28. Those accounts represented 33 percent of the profiles evaluated — a ratio Cyabra says is similar to inauthentic activity seen during wars and presidential elections. Inauthentic accounts typically make up between 7 and 10 percent of organic social media discourse, the company said.

Cyabra reported that on Dec. 26, fake profiles made up 56 percent of all comments on Minaj’s political posts. The accounts allegedly used highly similar language and often posted repetitive, brief praise. The report also states that when toxic content was amplified, algorithms drove Minaj’s posts even further. The company said it is about 85 percent confident the identified accounts are fake, noting that narrowing to stronger indicators could raise that confidence into the 90 percent range.

The analysis found the accounts amplified Minaj’s posts supporting President Donald Trump, criticizing California Gov. Gavin Newsom, expressing concern over the persecution of Christians in Nigeria, and content related to the music industry. It also reported that the same network predominantly amplified content produced by Minaj and Turning Point USA, indicating overlap in the discourse. Turning Point USA did not respond to a request for comment. Representatives for Minaj also did not respond.

Pushback came swiftly. Alex Bruesewitz, a media and political adviser to Trump who considers Minaj a “very close friend,” told POLITICO he is confident there are no bots involved with her social media presence. “Nicki has never used bot activity to promote herself on social media, because she doesn’t need to,” he said, adding, “She has one of the largest fan bases of any musician that’s alive today.” Conservative influencer Dom Lucre also rejected the allegations, calling them “one of the most absurd conspiracy theories I have ever seen in my entire life brother.”

Minaj has leaned into conservative politics since July of last year, appearing at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest convention in December and later joining Trump on stage at the Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit on Jan. 28, 2026. She has drawn praise from Vice President JD Vance and Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz, while continuing to post GOP-friendly content that garners millions of views.
