Cam Newton Opens Up On Why Marriage Isn’t For Him: I Like Volunteers, Not Hostages’
#CamNewton won’t be jumping the broom any time soon.
The retired NFL star recently appeared on the TalkLes Podcast, where he shared his candid thoughts on marriage and long-term commitment. When asked if he would consider getting married if he could legally tie the knot with multiple women, Cam responded, “No… I want to be around who want to be around me. … I like volunteers. I don’t like hostages.”
Clarifying his stance, he reiterated, “I like volunteers, not hostages. I want people around me who want to be around me.”
Cam also emphasized that marriage isn’t the only measure of commitment, explaining, “You can have marriage with no commitment, and you don’t have to have marriage to have a commitment. You can have a ring with no love, and you can have love with no ring. So what are we really doing it for?”
