Knicks Captain Jalen Brunson Says Team ‘Hasn’t Discussed’ Trump White House Visit Yet, Despite Owner James Dolan Saying Invite Was Accepted
Jalen Brunson is keeping the Knicks’ White House conversation in the locker room for now.
The Knicks captain was asked by New York Magazine about the possibility of visiting Donald Trump at the White House, just hours before team owner James Dolan publicly confirmed the franchise had accepted the invitation.
“We haven’t discussed it,” Brunson said. “But as a team, we’ll discuss it and we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
Dolan later said during a WFAN appearance that the Knicks had received and accepted the White House invite, adding that details still needed to be worked out.
The visit would follow the Knicks’ first NBA championship since 1973, a historic win that has already sparked debate because championship trips to the White House have become increasingly political in recent years.
Do you think the team will show up?
