25-year-old actor Evan Ross and 29-year-old singer Ashelee Simpson have made their love official. Monday evening, Evan, the son of the legendary Diana Ross and brother to Tracee Ellis Ross, announced their engagement on Twitter writing

Ashlee, the sister of singer Jessica Simpson, chimed in, tweeting her excitement

Evan’s big sister, Tracee, retweeted the couple’s announcement adding some adorable emoticons, illustrating her approval. The couple began dating publicly last summer.

This is the first marriage for Evan. Ashlee was previously married to Pete Wenz (2008–2011) and shares a 5-year-old son (Bronx) with him.
