Rapper Trick Daddy Arrested in Florida, Charged With Possession of Firearm
Wondering where rapper Trick Daddy (real name Maurice Young) has been these days? Apparently in trouble with the law. According to the Miami Herald, on Thursday (April 3rd), he was arrested by Broward County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with a litany of felonies, including possession of a gun and cocaine.
According to the Miami Herald, guns are forbidden for the young rapper, as he is a convicted felon and can’t possess guns. Reportedly, he was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license. Gossip Extra reports that he was released Friday morning on $6,100 bond.
Reportedly, legal problems aren’t new for the 40-year-old who made mainstream success from his hit, I’m A Thug and introducing Miami rapper, Trina. In 2003, he faced assault charges in Miami after he allegedly brandished a gun and threatened to kill a man during a dispute following a street basketball game. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was convicted in 1991 on charges of cocaine possession, carrying a concealed firearm, and violating probation, also in Miami. He served two-and-a-half years in state prison.
Since his arrest, he’s been pretty active on Twitter and other social media sites, but hasn’t addressed claims about his recent arrest.
