‘Never ever say never!’ Ava DuVernay On Directing Apple Music Commercial
Ava DuVernay has one lesson she’d like to share with us, never ever say never. Just days after the Oscar-nominated film maker’s Apple Music commercial (starring Kerry Washington, Taraji P. Henson and Mary J. Blige) aired during the Emmys, she posted a sentimental Instagram message about the experience.
She wrote:
Never ever say never. Never say you’ll never direct a commercial. Because one day a legend named Jimmy Iovine invites you to create THREE commercials for Apple Music.
