Prince Death: Painkillers Allegedly Found in His Possession

The county sheriff investigating the death of Prince is asking for help from the Drug Enforcement Administration, federal law enforcement officials told NBC News on Wednesday. The site reports,
The officials say prescription painkillers were found in his possession when he died and in his house near Minnesota, though officials have yet to say what role, if any, those medications may have played in his death. An autopsy was conducted last week, but the medical examiner said it would take weeks before the cause of death would be disclosed. The DEA’s role, officials say, will be to determine such things as where the medications came from, and what prescriptions Prince had obtained. DEA agents often check those records in death investigations. Some of his friends have said he took the painkiller Percocet to relieve pain in his hips — the result of years of jumping during performances.

How ignorant and stupid of a story is this? He had painkillers in his possession because he was prescribed painkillers. I absolutely hate the fact that some media outlets have determined to sensationalize nonsense to capitalize on a ‘hot topic’. This man had scandal-free career for over 2 decades. Stayed true to his genius and his art. Never has another artist uttered an unkind statement or comment about him or his character; in fact, all have held him as one of the most generous people they’ve ever encountered, and this is what outlets choose to attempt to do in his passing. Sad. Actually pathetic.
I totally agree with you Tracey. Every day there’s a different story, innuendo and speculation. It’s beyond ridiculous. At least wait until they announce the official cause of death before all the bs stories.
