(EXCLUSIVE) Mobb Deep’s Havoc Hit With Tax Lien Months After Losing Home to Foreclosure
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, Mobb Deep star Havoc is facing more financial issues. The IRS is accusing the rapper of owing $110k in back taxes, only months after he lost his New York home to foreclosure.
According to official records filed in New York last month, the IRS filed a Federal Tax Lien against Havoc for unpaid taxes for the years 2009 and 2010.
The breakdown for the tax bill is $70,185.09 (2009) and $39,844.74 (2010) for a grand total of $110,029.83
The IRS explains if the rapper doesn’t settle his debt quickly, they will begin the process of seizing his property and assets to collect on their money.
Last year, Havoc had his New York home foreclosed on following a legal battle with Wells Fargo. The bank accused the rapper of taking out a $607k loan to purchase the pad back in 2006.
They sued Havoc – real name Kejuan Muchita – accusing him of defaulting on his mortgage payments. The bank offered him the chance to save his home by paying a $56k lump sum payment. The rapper demanded the lawsuit be dismissed denying he defaulted on the mortgage
Havoc and the bank were ordered to try and settle the case in mediation but no settlement was reached. Then the judge came back and sided with Wells Fargo and ordered the home to be sold off at a foreclosure auction.
The rapper sued Universal Music last year accusing them of screwing him out of $57,489.61 in royalties owed. He voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit recently but left the door open to refile the suit at a later date.
