Today, a graphic video was released to the public. The footage was taken from police body camera footage, it captures the moments before police shot Scott. See the footage below.
Here’s another view of the shooting.
There’s much controversy surrounding whether Scott was carrying a gun. Witnesses say that he did not have a gun, while police have released photos of a gun they recovered at the scene.
Police also released a more detailed explanation of the incident, claiming that Scott was wearing an ankle holster and had a marijuana blunt. When asked if the released footage may calm protestors, Chief Kerr Putney said
The footage itself will not create in anyone’s mind absolute certainty as to what this case represents and what the outcome should be. The footage only supports all of the other information.
At his news conference, Putney said that his officers didn’t break the law but noted that the state is continuing its investigation.
Officers are absolutely not being charged by me at this point, but again, there’s another investigation ongoing.
Putney said that Scott was “absolutely in possession of a handgun,” and that officers also saw marijuana in his car, prompting them to act.
The city has been on edge ever since Scott’s shooting death.

I have heard reports that he was not supposed to have a gun because of his felony. People should know that in A lot of southern states it is not illegal for a felon to own a gun. As a matter of fact NC is one of those states that passed legislation in 2014 to restore gun rights to felons.
Bull$h*t. Why are you just making stuff up?
”
Of the states that require a person to have a permit or license to carry a handgun, we found only one that appears to allow felons to get permits. Oregon allows a person who has been found guilty of a felony by reason of insanity to apply for a gun license (Or. Rev. Stat. § 166.250(1)(c). Also, North Carolina allows a person convicted of a felony to get a permit if he has been pardoned and the permit does not violate the terms of the pardon (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 14-404(c)(1)).
@fawn the deplorable, NC allows felon’s to regain their right to own a gun and they are not alone. in 2014 SERVERAL states passed legislation making it possible and easy for felons’ to regain their gun rights.

I’m not doing your research for you. Do your own. Just do it somewhere other than Breitbart. You know, somewhere reputable.
I provided a quote, from a legitimite source. It was not Breitart, something I don’t even read. Again, you’re just making stuff up. Besides, Federal law usurps state law, so it is irrelevant if a conviction is federal.
