Jay Z Will Produce Series About 1st African American Special Ops Sniper
The TV hustle continues for Jay Z. According to a new report, the 46-year-old mogul has plans to produce an NBC drama about Nicholas Irving. Irving is a former Special Operations Direct Action Sniper in the 3rd Ranger Battalion for the U.S. Military.
He is the first African-American to serve as a special ops sniper in his battalion, and the US Army 3rd Ranger Battalion’s deadliest sniper.
Reportedly, Sterling K. Brown, who won an Emmy for “The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” will star as Irving.
The series will be based on Irving’s 2015 memoir, “The Reaper: Autobiography of One of the Deadliest Special Ops Snipers.” A source says,
The series will take a look inside the life of the world of special ops. The plan is to start filming early next year.
Last week, Jay Z announced that he was producing the “Time: The Kalief Browder Story” docuseries, along with a Richard Pryor biopic.
