John Legend Signs Overall Production Deal
Business is booming for John Legend. The singer, producer, Grammy and Academy Award winner, has reportedly inked a new deal with the independent production company, Critical Content. Under the deal, Get Lifted Film Co., founded by Legend and two business partners, Ty Stiklorious and Mike Jackson, will create and produce unscripted TV and digital media content.
The multi-year deal will give Get Lifted Film Co., access to Critical Content’s global portfolio, which includes more than 60 scripted and unscripted projects currently in production across 30 networks and studios. Legend and his production company currently serve as executive producers on WGN’s hit drama Underground, which is currently airing season two, and held the same role for the Oscar nominated film “La La Land.”
Legend released his fifth album “Darkness and Light” in December and will kick off his tour in Miami in and remain on the road throughout the summer.
