Mathew Knowles Says Music Industry Should Provide Better Security
In the wake of the tragic Las Vegas shooting, many are wondering who is responsible for protecting people from gun violence at public events. Mathew Knowles is weighing in, pointing the finger at the music industry. Knowles, who is the father of singers Beyonce and Solange, says that he feels that it is up to the music industry to provide better security at live events. He says,
For some time now, a large concern of mine has been these live events. I’m a father first of Beyonce and Solange and every time my daughter’s are on the stage indoors or outdoors this has always been a concern of mines.
He adds,
It’s up to the music industry to change this….We have to ensure that are artists are and are fans are safe.

As previously reported, Sunday night, a 64-year-old retired accountant named Stephen Paddock shot and killed 59 people and wounded 527.
Paddock is said to have shot people from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel window during a country music concert.
Doctors say some of the gunshot wounds were so severe they knew they had come from high-powered weapons not usually seen on the street. Concert-goers described scenes of horror and heroism. One man grasped the hand of a dying stranger to comfort him as he died, unable to pull himself away despite the danger.
Many carried the wounded to their own cars to drive to the hospital where they waited in lines of ambulances at emergency rooms.
