Drake Won’t Win Grammy’s For ‘More Life’ Album
Drake has absolutely no interest in snagging any Grammys for his latest “More Life” album. Reportedly, the rapper nor his team submitted the album for consideration at the 2018 Grammys.
A person close to the nomination process confirmed that the multi-platinum rapper did not submit “More Life” for album of the year or best rap album. The person also said Drake did not submit any of the songs from the album to categories like song of the year, record of the year or best rap song.
Released in March, “More Life” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, selling more than 2 million units, according to Nielsen Music. The album was released by OVO Sound, Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records and was produced by a variety of record producers, including 40, Frank Dukes, Boi-1da, Murda Beatz, T-Minus, Nineteen85 and Kanye West, among others. Features included Young Thug, Giggs, Skepta, Quavo, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Jorja Smith, Sampha and PartyNextDoor.
Nominees in the 83 Grammy catgories will be officially announced on Nov. 28. The 60th annual Grammy Awards will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York on Jan. 28. Songs and albums released between Oct. 1, 2016 and Sept. 30, 2017 are eligible for nomination.
