World Cup Winner Kylian Mbappe Wants To Donate His Half A Million Earnings To Charity
French forward Kylian Mbappe, 19, went from growing up in a poor neighborhood in Paris to winning the World Cup and now he’s doing his part to give back to young children. Mbappe plans to donate $500,000 to Premiers de Cordees, a French association that organizes sporting events for children with disabilities. $350,000 of the money being donated came from Mbappe winning the World Cup and the remainder was his pay from the seven games in the tournament. The general manager of Premiers de Cordees had this to say about Mbappe and his half-a-million dollar donation:
Kylian, he’s a great person. When his schedule allows it, he intervenes for us with pleasure. He has a very good [relationship] with children, he always finds the right [words] to encourage them. I sometimes even feel that [he] takes more pleasure to play with the kids than the kids themselves.
Mbappe was very impressive during the World Cup. After scoring four goals, he was doubled Best Young Player. The 19 year old’s goal against Croatia made him the first teenager to score in a World Cup final since 17-year-old Pelé in 1958.
Congrats to him!
