Insecure’s Natasha Rothwell Joins Cast of “Wonder Woman 1984”
Natasha Rothwell has landed a new role. The actress has joined the anticipated sequel of “Wonder Woman 1984. Rothwell is joining Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal in the Patty Jenkins directed film. While the plot and Rothwell’s role is under wraps, it is to be set in 1984 and will have Gadot’s character battling villain Cheetah, portrayed by Wiig. The first film “Wonder Woman” was a blockbuster, earning $821 million globally.
Rothwell is having a spectacular year. She portrays Kelli on the hit Issa Rae/HBO series Insecure gearing up for its third season, premiering in August. She also will star in the live action version of “Sonic The Hedgehog” currently filming in Vancouver. She is also writing the comedy “Bridal Recall” about a woman suffering from amnesia on her wedding day, who has until the end of the day to figure out who she is marrying and if she will go through with it. Rothwell also starred in the critically acclaimed film “Love, Simon,” released earlier this year.
