Al Roker To Make Broadway Debut In Limited Run Of “Waitress”
Al Roker, who has been a long time weather anchor on the Today show, is making a career change and heading to Broadway. It’s been announced that from October 5 to November 11, Roker will be joining the cast of “Waitress” for a limited run of the play. Al Roker said in a statement:
“I’m nervous and excited to be making my Broadway debut in such a pie-conic show. My character’s name is Old Joe, so I’ve got half of it down already. And there’s pie every night!”
The show’s composer and lyricist, Sara Bareilles said about Roker:
“He is a longtime favorite of ours and now we get to welcome him into a whole new world at the Brooks Atkinson where it hardly ever rains.”
