Yandy Smith Asks If She’s Being Too Hard On Teen Daughter – She Can’t Wear Long Weaves, Fake Nails & No TV On Weekdays
Yandy Smith is asking for the public’s help when it comes to chastising her daughter. The reality star shared a photo of her and her foster daughter, Infinity, having a conversation about maturing and boundaries. Yandy shares she is having a difficult time trying to get her teenager to see the need for excessive hair extensions or revealing clothing is unnecessary. The mothe equipped a lengthy caption, requesting for the public’s help in trying to determine if she was being too harsh.
I’m going to love you @fromyandytoinfinity . Yes. But I’m also going to tell you NO to a 22inch weave, belly shirts and long fake nails, I’m on the fence about your eyebrows getting done, we all eat dinner together and nope no TV is a rule on the weekday …I never raised a teenager y’all. Am I being too hard on her? she’s so annoyed right here. Help me I’m willing to shift on the eyebrows…maybe. ????? (and I really wanna say no phone on school nights but that might be too far…right?)
Yandy garnered about 15,000 comments on this particular post, and many users came to her defense. Noting they appreciated her trying to establish structure and balance to Infinity’s life.
Her co-star, Mariah Lynn wrote,
“I don’t think your being hard at all. What you’re doing is called caring, structure, guidance, and I commend you for this. I love this.”
Another user questioned why she wouldn’t be able to watch TV during the week if all her chores were completed. Yandy replied,
Distractions. She need to read books. A lot of them.
In an evolving time of technology and alterations to realistic perception, teenagers are tending to outgrow their forming years to appeal to their peers as they mirror their favorite social media influences. While these alterations can damage self esteem and alter the way you view the next person, do you think Yandy is wrong for holding her daughter to a different standard?
