ASAP Bari Pleads Guilty to Sexually Assaulting Woman in London Hotel Room
ASAP Bari pleaded guilty Thursday (Jan. 3) morning to sexually assaulting a woman in a London hotel room on an evening in July 2017. Reports detail how the Manhattan fashion designer pleaded guilty after he was implicated in a video, which emerged online, of him assaulting the woman.
The video displays Bari pulling the covers from the naked woman as she lay in bed, along with him stating a plethora of obscenities, in addition to him slapping her on the bottom as she told him to
Stop.
In the midst of the trial, it was uncovered the 27-year-old ASAP Mob co-founder attempted to “proposition her” while she waited for a taxi outside the Wireless music festival in 2017. After she rejected his advances and went to the hotel room with someone else, she was awoken within the early hours of the morning by Bari entering the room.
After police were called, the woman, who is being identified as Jane Doe in court documents, denied she was sexually assaulted, but later reported she was after the footage emerged online. While in court Thursday, the VLONE founder and designer was initially charged with two counts of sexual assault, but only pleaded guilty to one.
He has been ordered to pay a £4,000 ($5,054.42) fine and £2,500 ($3,159.01 USD) compensation to his victim.
