Ice Cube Announces “Game Changing” Developments to BIG3 League
Ice Cube is a game changer in every industry he touches! The last installment to his “Friday” movie series started filming last year, he and fellow rapper LL Cool J are purchasing their own sports TV networks, and his BIG-3 basketball league is hotter than ever. And BIG-3 is set to undergo it’s own changes this season. Ice Cube announced some exciting news about his league on Twitter. He said:
“BIG3 Big Announcements:
1. Expanding from 8 teams to 12
2. Lowering age from 30 to 27
3. Allowing NBA & Int’l pro players
4. Lisa Leslie will head coach the TRIPLETS
5. Playing in 18 cities
6. Playing 2 times a week”
In addition to easing their age requirement, Cube also announced the league is expanding with three whole new teams. He tweeted:
“@icecube @thebig3 expanding from 8 to 12 teams for Season 3. First team added: “TRIPLETS”. Lookout for the other 3 new teams joining the BIG3 Expansion. #ChangingTheGame #BIG3Season3”
He formally welcomed WNBA legend Lisa Leslie to the BIG-3 family with this Instagram post. His caption read:
“@icecube BIG3 Breaking News Basketball Hall of Fame and 3x WNBA MVP @lisaleslie will be the new head coach of TRIPLETS. Who else you wanna see coach in @thebig3? #BIG3Season3 #changingthegame”
